ABOUT THE ARTIST
Isabelle Arsenault is a celebrated and prolific illustrator. Alternately working in pencil, watercolor, collage, and digital coloration, her sensitive style conveys a warmth and emotion that speaks equally to children and adults. She is especially well known for her children’s book illustrations. Isabelle has won the prestigious Governor General’s Literary Award three times, for Le Coeur de Monsieur Gauguin (Children’s Literature, French – Illustration, 2005), for Virginia Wolf (Children’s Literature, English – Illustration, 2012), and for Jane, the Fox & Me (Children’s Literature, French – Illustration, 2013); and has twice been a finalist (for My Letter to the World and Migrant). The New York Times listed her book Migrant amongst the ten best-illustrated books of 2011, and her book Jane, the Fox & Me amongst the ten best-illustrated books of 2013.
